President Rosen Plevneliev visited the State of Israel in the period 10-12 June as part of the High-Level Mission on Exploring the Dialogue in the Middle East, organized by the International Center for Tolerance and Dialogue Nizami Gandjavi. The aim of the meeting was to improve the dialogue in the Middle East and to provide a better understanding of the regional sensitivities and opportunities for peace in the Middle East. The event of Nizami Gandjavi was attended by a number of politicians from Europe and Asia, including presidents Peter Stoyanov, Viktor Yushchenko, Boris Tadic and others. They had meetings with former Foreign Minister of Israel - Tsipi Livni, with Juli - Joel Edelstein – Speaker of the Knesset, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others.
